RENEWALS
Liquor licenses are valid for one year from the date of issuance and must be renewed annually. The Liquor Enforcement Division of the Colorado Department of Revenue mails renewal applications approximately 90 days prior to the license expiration and the City of Lakewood mails out renewal letters approximately 60 days prior to the license expiration. Renewal applications are approved locally before they are forwarded to the state and are due in the City Clerk's Office 45 days prior to the license expiration date. If you do not receive your renewal application in a timely manner, contact the City Clerk's Office for a substitute application. Failure to renew your liquor license prior to the expiration date can result in a late fee of $500 or loss of the license.

CHANGES
Any changes to your premises, management, corporate officers, directors, shareholders, or managing members should be reported to the City Clerk's Office immediately to ensure you are in compliance with local and state laws and regulations.

ALCOHOL AWARENESS SEMINARS- register online
The City offers seminars free of charge to all Lakewood liquor/beer licensees and their employees. The seminars take a preventative approach to the two most challenging issues facing licensees: sales to minors and intoxication. All seminars are held in the City Council Chambers, Civic Center South, 480 S. Allison Pkwy., First Floor. You are encouraged to call the City Clerk's Office at 303-987-7083 or register online for one or more of these free seminars.

LIQUOR AUTHORITY MEETINGS
The Lakewood Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licensing Authority is a quasi-judicial body, which makes decisions on the granting or refusal of licenses for the sale of malt, vinous, or spiritous liquors. It conducts hearings on alleged violations of local and state laws and imposes sanctions as necessary. The Authority meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. You may view the most recent agenda or upcoming meetings and agenda items online.
