The Lasley Neighborhood Plan was adopted by City Council as an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan on August 27, 2001. The Lasley neighborhood is bounded by Mississippi Avenue, Sheridan Boulevard, Jewell Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard. The neighborhood is typical of a 1960s suburban development, and is comprised primarily of single-family homes. Centrally located near the city's core, it is home to the ten-acre Lasley Park and the Link Recreation Center. Residents are very proud of their neighborhood, and during the planning process identified several key issues facing the neighborhood including traffic and safety issues at Lasley Elementary School, the need for improvements and enhancements to Lasley Park, and the need for residential and commercial maintenance and upkeep.
