Neighborhoods

The enhancement and protection of Lakewood's neighborhoods are key goals of the City of Lakewood Comprehensive Plan. One avenue for achieving the stated goals is through the neighborhood planning process. Neighborhood planning is a collaborative effort between city staff, residents and property owners of a neighborhood to identify goals to guide the future direction of the neighborhood. This effort helps foster strong communities that are the building blocks of a vital and active city, affords residents the opportunity to become involved in their community, and provides a pro-active, rather than reactive, approach to neighborhood concerns.
