February 26th Advisory Committee Meeting

The second Wadsworth Boulevard Corridor Plan Advisory Committee meeting took place on February 26th. The focus of the meeting was the relationship between land use and transportation.

Staff from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) presented on the Metro Vision 2035 Plan and discussed Wadsworth Boulevard’s role as a regional arterial and a future regional transit corridor.

Crissy Fanganello gave a presentation on Context Sensitive Solutions. The presentation addressed the importance of designing transportation systems to accommodate all users and it also highlighted the negative impacts on human health and the environment when the built environment is designed primarily to accommodate automobiles.

The Committee also reviewed the summary of responses from the January 31st Advisory Committee meeting group exercise and briefly reviewed existing transportation, land use, zoning, urban design, and economic development conditions along the Corridor.
