Wadsworth Boulevard Corridor Plan Process

The Wadsworth Boulevard Corridor Plan will be an advisory document that will help staff and elected officials make decisions related to land use, transportation, urban design, and economic development as properties develop or redevelop along the Corridor.

The study area boundaries for the Wadsworth Boulevard Corridor Plan primarily include the commercial areas adjacent to Wadsworth Boulevard, from 26th Avenue in the north to the southern City limits at Crestline Avenue.

For planning purposes, the Corridor is divided into a north and south planning area, with Yale Avenue as the boundary between the two. There will be a series of combined and separate meetings for the two planning areas. Meetings for the North Planning Area will start in March, and meetings for the South Planning Area will start later in the year.

In addition to the Advisory Committee, extensive public involvement will be a key part of the planning process, with a survey, several open houses, stakeholder interviews, a public hearing process, and other opportunities for public input as needed.

The Committee will meet monthly through 2008. It is anticipated that a public hearing process will occur in late 2008 and the Plan will be adopted as an amendment to the City of Lakewood’s Comprehensive Plan in late 2008 or early 2009.
