Q & A with volleyball instructor,
Q: Describe your camp in three words.
Andi: Fun, energetic, unforgettable.
Q: What’s your favorite game to play with campers?
Andi: My favorite volleyball game to play with the kids is Dead Fish, a serving game. That is one of the campers favorites as well. For a non-volleyball game my favorite has to be capture the flag, another camp favorite.
Q: Will kids that haven’t played sports before enjoy a sports camp?
Andi: Definitely. We make sure to start from the very beginning and move on from there so no one will feel left out or lost. We play many games; sport and non-sport related to keep them interested and to make sure they are having fun as well as learning the skills. We also do theme days, such as crazy hair day and crayon day to get the kids excited to come back the next day to participate. Going to the pool in the afternoon is also a fun activity that they all seem to love.
What is your favorite sports memory from childhood?
Andi:Winning state CARA volleyball tournaments at Whitlock with my team Ladies and Mitch.
Q: Tell us a funny fact about yourself.
Andi: When I was little I used to think that the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz was cute. My parents were worried that I would be scared of her, but to their surprise I wanted to be her friend.
