The Lakewood City Council votes to adopt ordinances and resolutions. For your convenience, two years of ordinances and resolutions considered by City Council are provided below.
Ordinances are used to enact any permanent law or measure which make up the laws of the City and are enforced by penalty. Adoption of an ordinance requires a public hearing. Once an ordinance becomes effective it becomes part of the Municipal Code.
Resolutions are used to express a particular position, to make an appointment, or to adopt a policy that is administrative in nature. Resolutions are not reflected in the Municipal Code and are immediately effective upon passage by City Council.
