Music

5:30 p.m. | Loving the Alien Loving the Alien
Loving the Alien pays homage to David Bowie with loving attention to not just the music, but the feel of a David Bowie show. They sweat the details to bring you the authentic sound of Bowie, from his many eras and personalities.

 

Loving the Alien was recently recognized as one of the region's top tribute bands when they were honored with the 1st Place prize at Leftapalooza 2017.

What do you get when you come to see a Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Track Revival show?  You get "Grade A" performances of rock and pop masterpieces from the 1970s.  That's right kids . . . this means tunes that you may not often hear these days.  From ELO, Alice Cooper and Led Zeppelin, to rarities by Nick Gilder, Gary Wright and Sweet . . . MM8TR delivers 100% top fuel analog rock and roll, with a side of AM gold pop.

Activities

Best dressed competition | Winners announced at 6:45 p.m.
Pull out those bell bottoms, vests and bohemian dresses, because this year’s Rockin’ Block Party is 70s themed!  The grooviest folks (both kids AND adults) will walk away with some great prizes!

 

Children’s Activities  | 5-8 p.m.Kids activities lawn bowling
There’s no end to the fun. This year at Rockin’ Block, your kids can enjoy tractor-pulled hay wagon rides, pulled by our 1940 McCormic Farmall “H” tractor, FREE balloon twisting, arts & crafts, an obstacle course, a special visit by a West Metro Firetruck, and so much more! 

 

Sidewalk Astronomy | 8:30 p.m.
If 70s stars aren’t your thing, then how about the real ones? Jeffco Open Space will be setting up their telescope for anyone who wants to snag a peek at Jupiter.

 

Museum Tours | 5-9 p.m.
Take a step back in time and do a self-guided tour through our museum buildings! All historic structures will be open to the public for your viewing pleasure.

Get some afternoon munchies from visiting food trucks.
