Bear Creek Lake Park and the City of Lakewood Regional Parks Division offer a wide range of programs and events at all of our locations. Find out what's happening and get outside and visit us at Bear Creek Lake Park, William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain and the Bear Creek Greenbelt.

The first full weekend in June has been designated as no license required fishing in the state of Colorado. Come and join park naturalists at the Kendrick Lake Picnic Shelter and learn the basics of fishing. We will learn about types of fish, bait, fishing ethics and how to catch the big one.

Bear Creek Bear Cubs - Wetland Wonders

Join us for this program specially designed for children ages 3-5. Participants will explore their natural environment through stories, songs and interactive programs.

Trout Fishing Tournament

Cast your line and reel in the big one at the Bear Creek Lake Park trout fishing tournament! The target fish for this event will be rainbow or brown trout, and the winner will be determined by weight. This is a 2-person team tournament that will take place on Bear Creek Reservoir with 25 team slots available for watercraft and 25 team slots available for shore fishermen. There will be cash prizes for first, second and third place. All boats will require a mandatory boat inspection.

Discover constellations and other objects in the sky you never knew existed. Staff from Bear Creek Lake Park and Lookout Mountain Nature Center will bring their telescopes out to Belmar Park to give you a new view of the moon, stars and more.
