The darkness of night provides a unique backdrop for a hiking adventure. Leave those flashlights at home and come spend the evening with a park naturalist as he/she guides you along one of the many trails at Bear Creek Lake Park and the surrounding green space.s These hikes are for the whole family and average about 1-1.5 miles. The trails are on uneven terrain and last about an hour and a half. Don't forget to dress appropriately for Colorado's ever-changing weather. No dogs please.


Ages: All ages

Cost: $2/person, park entrance fee is waived.

Registration closes the Monday before the hike.

Free Wildflower Hike

Join the park naturalist and members of the Bureau of Land Management as we explore the spring floral display on William Frederick Hayden Park on Green Mountain. Bring comfortable hiking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. No dogs please. Meet at the Florida parking lot.

Weed 'em Out!

Volunteer for Weed 'em Out and help us battle noxious weeds! Join park staff and area plant experts at Belmar Park for a volunteer event focused on invasive weed education and removal. Event will include educational tables, stations, activities and giveaways. Lite breakfast and lunch will be provided. Volunteers will meet at the Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street, Lakewood, CO 80226.

 

The event will run from 8am-noon. The work project will last about 2 hours, leaving plenty of time to learn about invasive weeds, native plants and pollinators! A waiver form will be required for all volunteers. Registration is requested to ensure we order enough lunches.
