Earth Day Electronics Recycling

Recycle your old or broken electronics on April 21, 2018 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 777 S. Yarrow St. After you recycle, head next door to the Earth Day Celebration!

Bear Creek Lake Park Volunteer Project

Each year, Bear Creek Lake Park hosts a volunteer project to honor Earth Day. Volunteers of all ages work on various projects throughout the park. Details can be found at Lakewood.org/BCLPEvents.

Beer Garden
 
Enjoy beer from Avery Brewing, Crazy Mountain Brewing, Platt Park Brewing, Odell, and Landlocked Ales at the Beer Garden, while listening to live music and playing yard games. All proceeds from the Beer Garden will go to Jovial Concepts, a local non-profit organization committed to community and stewardship.

Grab a bite to eat from a Colorado food truck while you listen to the music and enjoy the beer garden. We'll have a range of delicious bites from Vegan Van, Rocky Mountain Slices, and Smoke on the Mountain BBQ.

Bike Valet
 
Ride your bike to the Earth Day Celebration and park it at the free bike valet run by the Lakewood Bicycle Advisory Team and Golden Bear Bikes. You'll even have a chance to win a free bike lock and anyone who bikes, buses, walks or carpools to Earth Day can stop by the Save the 'Zone booth for a special commuter prize.

Explore our sustainable backyard and find out how you can create your own by learning about chickens, xeriscaping, rain barrels and other sustainable practices.

Discover what it would be like to own an electric vehicle. A Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, and Tesla Model X will be on display and experts will be there to answer your questions about the benefits and logistics of electric vehicles.

Get moving with fun fitness activities like Zumba, fitness drums and yoga and earn a chance to win a free yoga mat or towel donated by Honest Tea. Classes are open to all ages and levels and led by Lakewood recreation instructors.
