THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFICE (303) 987-7450: FAX (303) 716-3762 The Chief Deputy City Attorney and four Deputy City Attorneys prosecute violations of the City Code in Municipal Court. The prosecutor's office also has several legal assistants who help prepare cases for trial by interviewing witnesses and reviewing police reports. The Lakewood Municipal Code contains many types of ordinances including traffic violations, criminal charges, zoning, tax and animal control laws. A copy of the Lakewood Municipal Code is on file at the City Clerk's Office and copies of ordinances are available for a fee per page. THE LAKEWOOD CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE THE CITY ATTORNEY (303) 987-7450 The City Attorney provides legal services and advice to the City of Lakewood. Roger W. Noonan has served as the City Attorney of Lakewood since 1981. He is responsible for the administration of legal services to Lakewood, which includes advising the City Council, the City Manager, Boards and Commissions and all departments of the City. Mr. Noonan is assisted by Paul Kennebeck, the Deputy City Attorney. Their offices are located in the City Manager's Office at 480 S. Allison Parkway. THE POLICE LEGAL ADVISOR (303) 987-7108 The Police Legal Advisor serves as the attorney for the Lakewood Police Department. Janet Young has been the police department's attorney since 1983. Ms. Young is responsible for the legal training of police recruits and all current police deparment employees. She drafts city ordinances pertaining to law enforcement issues and interprets state statutes and court decisions for implementation by the police department. |
