WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD?
In Lakewood, the night is a city coming together to celebrate year-long crime prevention efforts, to discuss current challenges within neighborhoods and to rededicate efforts to strengthen the community. The event provides opportunity for citizens and police to become acquainted, share common goals and recommit to work together to ensure success.
WHEN IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out is held the first Tuesday in August. In 2017, it will be Tuesday, August 1st. Agents will start going around to events starting at 4pm and will stop at 9pm. We ask that citizens don't start their events before 3:30pm. They can have their events last later than 9pm provided they follow all municipal noise ordinances.
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Please consider reaching beyond the circle of neighbors that you already know, as National Night Out is about strengthening the bond of your community.
The event can be as simple or as complex as you'd like; it could be a pot luck, an ice cream social, or you may consider reaching out to local businesses to see if they would be willing to support your event in any way.
