See Carmody Park Master Plan at Open House

Public invited to open house to view Carmody Park's master plan

The City of Lakewood will host an open house to share the completed Carmody Park master plan and answer questions from the community at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30 at Carmody Middle School, 2050 S. Kipling St.  Residents can pick up a copy of the final plan and talk to staff about any questions they might have.

Carmody Park encompasses approximately 34 acres that was originally developed by Foothills Parks and Recreation District in the 1970s.  The City took ownership of the site and facilities in 2000 and completed recreation center modifications in 2002.  The City deconstructed the adjacent racquetball center in 2011.  Currently, the site includes the Carmody Recreation Center (51,355 square feet), four soccer fields, a basketball court, a playground, 232 parking spaces and a 1,300-square-foot picnic pavilion that can be reserved.  The City retained the services of Mundis Bishop to assist with developing the master plan, which was completed with significant public input gathered last fall.

Members of the public can contact the Department of Community Resources at 303-987-7800 or email with any questions or comments.  For more information, please contact Allison Scheck at 303-987-7872 or
