Detectives Attempt to Identify Assault Suspect

Lakewood police detectives are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect in an assault that took place at a park in their city.

On September 23rd, at about 4:30 pm, a 14-year-old female was walking in Cottonwood Park located in the area of South Kipling Pkwy & West Jewell Ave. The juvenile female was approached by a man in his early twenties. The man asked the female if she would like to have a good time. When the female told the man “No,” the man grabbed her arm and struck her in the face with his fist. At that point the female was able to get away and run.

The female advised that she had never seen the man and did not know his identity. She described him as being in his early twenties, wearing a black t-shirt, baggy blue jeans and white shoes. He had short dark brown hair and a piercing through his left eyebrow that was a rod with a small ball on each end.

With the assistance of the female victim, detectives have produced a composite sketch of the suspect. They are asking anyone who might have information about the case or knowledge of the suspect’s identity to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
