Senior Liaison Program

The Senior Liaison Program is an outreach program to older adults. Police Agent Ken King, the senior liaison, attends senior community meetings and trainings at senior citizens facilities such as nursing homes and retirement centers as part of the program. The liaison also develops training materials for other Lakewood police agents on how to better deal with senior issues such as neglect. The program offers periodic crime prevention tips at the Clements Center and through "50 Plus," a program on Lakewood's Channel 8 government access channel.

The program recently won a grant that will pay for a five-week crime prevention program called "Streetwise -- Building Safe Communities for Older Adults."
