Land
development often requires site work in addition to building construction.
To provide complete and timely information related to land development
it is best to request a
pre-planning review from the Community Planning and Development
Department at 303-987-7500. This review will identify the processes
needed, the documents to prepare, and the fees associated with any
project. By obtaining this information early in a project, the schedule
and costs for a development proposal can be better understood.
Questions
about public improvements (such as streets and sidewalks) that may
be needed to serve a development can be directed to 303-987-7500.
The same phone number can be used to obtain information about grading,
dirt moving, drainage, and activities in drainageways. Engineers
and others are available to advise you throughout your project.
Plan
review, permitting, and inspection of private buildings are provided
by the Engineering Division. These services ensure buildings are
constructed that achieve the safety provisions of building codes
adopted by the City Council. All buildings, most remodels, fences,
and most additions to existing structures require permits. Work
in the public rights-of-way also requires a permit. Call 303-987-7500
or stop by 480 South Allison Parkway in the Civic Center North building
for further information.
If
you need land survey benchmarks or horizontal control points, call
303-987-7900.
