Rumors of City Park Property Trade Not True

There has been a persistent but false rumor regarding the park property west of Kipling Parkway and north of West Center Avenue known as Glennon Dale Park. The untrue rumor claims that there are plans to trade this parkland for other usage.

This rumor is not true -- The City of Lakewood has no plans to trade this property. The property was purchased in 1978 from Glennon Heights, Inc., by Jefferson County Open Space, and the deed was transferred to the City of Lakewood subsequently. The property is a part of Lakewood's parkland inventory, and remains undeveloped at this time.

City of Lakewood Mayoral and City Council elections are being held this Nov. 6. Rumors often run rampant during election season. Don't be fooled by rumors. Please contact the City directly if you hear something that just doesn't seem right: City Manager's Office - 303-987-7050.
