Council Member Elected to DRCOG

 

 
Lakewood City Council Member Serves Regional Board
 


Lakewood City Councilor Ed Peterson has been elected secretary of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Board of Directors. The Board elected its 2007 officers Feb. 21.

On the Lakewood City Council, Peterson represents Lakewood's Ward 3, along with Councilor Sue King. He was elected to a four-year term on City Council in November 2003. Peterson has represented Lakewood on the DRCOG Board of Directors since 2005 and holds a number of committee positions.

DRCOG is a voluntary association of 52 county and municipal governments united together to achieve a better future for our region. DRCOG members include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek, Douglas, Gilpin and Jefferson counties, the City and County of Broomfield, the City and County of Denver, and 43 municipalities.

Joining Peterson in leading the regional council in 2007 are Denver Council Member Rick Garcia as chair, Westminster Mayor Nancy McNally as vice chair, and Arapahoe County Commissioner Rod Bockenfeld as treasurer. Greenwood Village Mayor Nancy N. Sharpe is immediate past chair.
