Watch City Council Meetings Live on Your Computer

April 27, 2007:
Lakewood residents will soon have a new way to watch their City Council - online! Beginning on May 14, view regular Council meetings live on your computer. Or if you missed the original meeting, just click back later and watch at your convenience - you can choose the whole meeting or just the portions you're interested in.

The City's government access channel - KLTV8 - and Lakewood's website - www.Lakewood.org - have teamed up to provide continuous streaming of KLTV8 programming over the website, including live broadcasts of Council's regular meetings. Additionally, Lakewood.org visitors will be able to call up the meeting as early as the next morning (or even days later), click the particular Council agenda item they are interested in, and play that portion of the meeting back on demand. A selection of other on-demand videos from KLTV8 also will be available for viewing on the website, whenever it's convenient for you.

The new video service works with PC and Macintosh computers. As the archive of meeting videos grows, users will be able to use a keyword search function to find an agenda item if they are unsure which meeting it took place in. The new service is part of City Council's ongoing efforts to keep Lakewood government open and accessible and to keep communication channels open with residents.

Watch for more details about this new service coming soon.
