Children Auditions Open for Robin Hood from Missoula Children's Theatre

The Lakewood Cultural Center is delighted to host auditions for Missoula Children's Theatre's participatory musical theater residency of Robin Hood:

  • Monday, January 28, 2008
  • 4:15-6:15pm
  • Children in grades K - 12.
  • Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway

This group audition requires no advance registration, preparation or previous stage experience. Participants should sign in by 4pm and will be required to stay for the full two-hour audition. Casting will be announced at 6:15pm. Among the roles to be cast are Robin Hood, Merry Band, Maid Marion, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham and numerous Aristocrats, Guards, Horsemen, Foresters and Skunks.

Depending on the specific role assigned, rehearsals will begin immediately following the audition, Monday evening from 6:45-8:45pm. Rehearsals will continue Tuesday through Thursday after school from 4:30-8:30pm. Three one-hour fully staged musical performances of Robin Hood will take place 7:30pm on Friday, February 1 and 11am and 2pm, Saturday, February 2. All auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, in Lakewood.

Cost for the residency is $45 per participant assessed only to those children accepted into the program. Missoula Children's Theatre is the nation's largest touring children's theatre company and has been touring globally for nearly 30 years from Montana to Japan. MCT's mission is to encourage the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts. During the residency, participants learn to be accountable for their actions, responsible for their successes and confident in their communications.
