Turning 40 for Lakewood just got a little more fun. Lakewood is calling on those who live, work, go to school or own a business in the city to participate in its competition to name an official tree, flower and song for Lakewood's 40th anniversary. In June 1969, a diverse array of neighborhoods came together to make themselves into Lakewood. Those who lived in the neighborhoods known as Alameda, Green Mountain, Bear Creek, Applewood and Lakewood voted to incorporate into a city. To mark the 40th anniversary of that incorporation, Lakewood is seeking nominations for the three categories. Download nomination forms from the following links, or pick up copies at Lakewood's recreation centers and cultural facilities. Download
