Safe2Tell

new safe to tell

Safe2Tell is a statewide program that is designed to help you anonymously report any threatening behavior that endangers you, your friends, your family, or your community. Examples of situations in which Safe2Tell can be used include reporting weapons at school, threats made by other students or citizens, suspicious activity around schools, or any other safety concern.

Information can be communicated anonymously to a Safe2Tell representative in the following ways:

  • Call 1-877-542-SAFE (7233),
  • On the internet at www.safe2tell.org
  • Text S2T to 274637 (for Jefferson County Schools)

The information is then forwarded to involved schools and local law enforcement.

While Safe2Tell provides an option for an anonymous report, the most effective way to report threats, safety concerns, or criminal behavior is to contact the Lakewood Police Department directly. Call 911 in an emergency, or visit www.jeffcom911.org for information on who to call in a non-emergency situation. This allows Lakewood Police agents to receive the information first hand, gather additional important information, and to begin immediately following up on your call.
