Lakewood Paralympian to sign jersey

Paralympian bronze medalist Beatriz Hatz will sign her jersey from the 2024 games in Paris with Mayor Wendi Strom for display in the atrium of the Lakewood Civic Center.
Hatz won her medal in long jump, and it’s her first medal in two Paralympic appearances. She is a native of Lakewood who has demonstrated extraordinary athletic abilities, resilience and determination through her Paralympic career. She also has been named the U.S. Paralympics Track & Field High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2018.

Details: Media representatives are invited to interview Beatriz Hatz and capture the signing and presentation of a jersey to Mayor Wendi Strom.
Please arrive by 9:55 a.m. Remarks will begin at 10:10 a.m. On-camera interviews and photo opportunities will follow the jersey signing and presentation.
City Council will also honor Hatz with a proclamation for Beatriz Hatz Appreciation Day at its Oct. 28 meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Media are also welcomed to attend the meeting.
