May 7, 2024 [LAKEWOOD] – Buckle up for this slammin’ summer kickoff event in Lakewood, the annual Rockin’ Block Party. Each year, this free summer event is hosted at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park and showcases an evening of live music followed by an outdoor screening of a cinematic favorite.

“Join us on a trip” down memory lane to a time when “Bad Company” didn’t refer to your nosy house guests and when “Dreams” of “Silver Springs” and “Seven Wonders” filled the airwaves. This year’s party celebrates a summer of 70s, featuring tribute band Crystal Visions, which pays homage to music icon, Fleetwood Mac and The Bad Co. Experience, a tribute to supergroup Bad Company.

Stick around for the movie that broke box office records in 1975 and became the first summer blockbuster, Steven Spielberg’s iconic “Jaws.” The movie begins at 9 p.m. and is projected onto a jumbo-sized outdoor screen.

Rockin’ Block Party features free entertainment and activities, food trucks and the Beer Garden presented by Foothills Credit Union. Audiences of all ages (and their well-behaved pups) are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or low lawn chairs to enjoy the night. Visit Lakewood.org/RockinBlock for more event details.
