Board of Adjustment The Board hears and makes decisions on requests by property owners for variances from development regulations, and appeals from decisions of the Planning Department. The members of the Board of Adjustment are those individuals appointed to serve as the Planning Commission.
Board of Appeals The Board hears and makes decisions on appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Building Code Administrator.
Design Review Commission This commission has the authority to review, approve and/or modify certain design review applications within designated areas of the city.
Historic Preservation Commission The Commission conducts public hearings on applications for landmark designation and makes recommendations to City Council.
Housing Policy Commission The Commission researches, analyzes and develops policies for consideration and possible adoption by the City Council.
Judicial Review Commission This Commission investigates all complaints against Lakewood municipal judges.
Lakewood Advisory Commission (LAC) The LAC is made up of four subcommittees consisting of 30 members who are charged with being an advocate and informed voice for the community to the City Council regarding sustainability, neighborhoods, civic awareness and diversity.
Noxious Weed Local Advisory Board The Board is an independent entity responsible to the City Council, charged with reviewing and approving noxious weed management plans.
Planning Commission The Commission conducts public hearings on rezoning and subdivision applications for specific parcels of land in order to make recommendations to the City Council. The Planning Commission is the approval authority for most special use permits and waivers.
