LCC Livestream FAQs

Read the FAQs below to learn more about Lakewood Cultural Center livestream performances.

What platform do Lakewood Cultural Center livestreams use?

We have chosen YouTube Live, which requires no extra installation or account creation when viewing through your computer’s web browser. You will receive an email with the link to the livestream before the performance at the email address you provided when purchasing tickets. You will receive this email at 5 p.m. the day prior to the event, and again 1 hour prior to the event.

Do I need to purchase tickets for every viewer watching with me?

We have created a special ticket intended for multiple viewers in the same location. Please select Virtual Household on the ticketing screen.

Can I download the livestream to watch later?

No. Due to copyright laws, performances are only available for viewing during the livestream unless otherwise specified.

What if I am late to the livestream?

All Lakewood Cultural Center livestreams will be available to view 20 minutes prior to the listed curtain time. This should allow ample time to set up and troubleshoot your connection and devices before the performance begins. If you begin in the middle of a livestream, simply hover over the video and press at the far left of the red line to begin from the beginning.

What if I forgot to attend the livestream?

Tickets are non-refundable. If you missed your performance and wish to speak about options, please contact the box office at 303-987-7845 or tickets@lakewood.org.

Do the livestreams have closed captions or audio description?

Not at this time. Please reach out to the box office at 303-987-7845 for accessibility requests.

I did not receive the email with the link, what should I do?

Emails with links to the performance are sent out twice: At 5 p.m. the day before the performance, and 1 hour prior to curtain. The email will be sent to the email address attached to your account. Be sure to double check spam, junk filters and folders. We have found that Comcast, Hotmail and MSN email providers sometimes filter out our emails. Please consider using a different email if you have one of these addresses and are not receiving our communications.

If you are uncertain which email address is listed with your account, please call the box office prior to performance time at 303-987-7845. Please understand that we may not be able to accommodate a high volume of requests at time of show.

Which browser should I use when watching from my computer?

We highly recommend Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge. Due to the large number of browsers available, our box office will not be able to supply technical support for specific browsers. All livestreams are available 20 minutes prior to curtain time to allow ample time to test your browser and other connections.

Will I be able to watch on my smartphone or tablet device (Android, Apple, LG, Google Pixel, etc.)?

Yes! Make sure that you can access the email account from your device, then click on the link and the livestream will connect in either your device’s Internet browser, or, if you have it, the YouTube application.

For further troubleshooting, consult this Youtube support page and choose the category most like your problem.

Will I be able to watch on my Smart TV device (Chromecast, Firestick, PlayStation, Roku, etc)?

Yes! Make sure that you can access the email account from your device, then click on the link and the livestream will connect in either your device’s Internet browser, or, if you have it, the YouTube application.

For further troubleshooting, select the device you are trying to connect to from this list of WikiHow instructions.

I am using a device or connection method not listed here, can you help me?

Our box office cannot supply specific technical support at time of show for all possible viewing methods. All Lakewood Cultural Center livestreams will be available to view 20 minutes prior to the listed curtain time.  This should allow ample time to set up and troubleshoot your connection and devices before the performance begins.

I am having audio/video problems, what should I do?

Your Internet connection may not be fast enough to support the livestream. Hover over the video and click "Settings", shaped like a gear or cog, to change the "Quality" setting (the bottom of the menu) to a lower number.

If you are still having difficulties, try a different type of device, or contact your Internet Service Provider for support. If you are unable to view the performance after troubleshooting, contact the box office at 303-987-7845 or tickets@lakewood.org and we can discuss further options with you.

Can I leave comments on the livestream?

Moderators reserve the right to remove content or restrict users as necessary. We recommend reviewing the city's Social Media Policy (including comments, posting, and moderation).
