Belmar Park Parking Review

Concept Parking Map

The City of Lakewood is constructing a new trailhead to serve as a gateway to Belmar Park, located at 605 S. Yarrow St., on the east side of the park, south of the Belmar Library. This lot will provide improved access to the park as the official trailhead and overflow parking for events at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park. It will also reduce the number of park visitors using the Belmar Library parking lot to access the park. The overflow lot will remain turf grass and be utilized in a temporary nature a few times per year for city events.

The city formerly had an agreement to use the parking lot at 777 S. Yarrow St. for event parking. This property is under new ownership and has a site plan application underway for a proposed 412-unit apartment complex, which will eliminate the current parking lot.

The parking lot design, permitting, and construction process is anticipated to take a year to complete. The city is anticipating use of this area of Belmar Park for temporary parking in 2023 for large city events such as Rockin’ Block and Cider Days.
