Charles Whitlock Pool

Whitlock pool overview

The pool is closed.

The city is actively working to reopen the Whitlock Therapy Pool, which has been closed for a number of years largely because of a lack of certified lifeguards to staff the pool.

During the closure, a number of issues have been reviewed including the long-term feasibility of pool, which has taken some time. Because the pool has been drained while it hasn’t been in use, the city determined that there might be some mechanical issues that need addressing. The next step is to have an assessment performed on the mechanical system to determine if any necessary repairs are needed to reopen the pool.

This assessment will occur in early 2025 and will provide information on how to best move forward in a financially sustainable and cost-effective manner. Check back for updates on repairs and more information regarding an opening date.

The Charles Whitlock Recreation Center houses a warm water pool facility offering an array of aqua fitness programs. The typical water temperature within the pool is between 90 and 93 degrees. This temperature promotes increased flexibility and mobility and is excellent for rehabilitation and fitness exercises.

Whether you’re participating in aqua fitness classes, completing rehab exercises or looking for a social outlet, this pool is an excellent option.
