Higher Education in Lakewood


Lakewood is home to several exceptional colleges and universities that produce career-ready graduates and offer customized business partnerships:

Red Rocks Community College (RRCC)
RRCC offers over 125-degree programs and nearly 300 certificates, career coaching, apprenticeships, and hands-on training. With flexible options for working adults and early college credit for high school students, RRCC is a cornerstone of workforce readiness in Lakewood.

Colorado Christian University (CCU)
CCU serves thousands of students through more than 50 accredited programs. The university is undergoing a $120 million campus transformation and boasts robust athletics and community engagement, preparing students for leadership roles in various industries.

Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD)

Workforce Planning & Strategy


The Tri-County Workforce Development Board plays a vital role in aligning workforce resources with employer needs across Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties. The board offers strategic oversight for the American Job Center, ensuring that business and education partners collaborate to meet regional workforce demands.
