The Comprehensive Plan is an important document that outlines a holistic, shared vision for Lakewood over the next 10-15 years. The Plan will be used by staff, City Council, Planning Commission and other boards and commissions to inform decisions about housing, transportation, climate action, parks and more in Lakewood.

40 West Arts & The ArtLine

40 West Arts is a state-certified Creative District in northeast Lakewood. The ArtLine is a 4-mile long walking and biking arts experience that meanders through the District. Learn more about both of these initiatives that emerged out of City-led planning efforts.

Community Development Block Grant

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program uses grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to complete housing and community development activities that benefit Lakewood's low-income residents and neighborhoods. Funding is allocated to city projects and non-profits who serve low-income and special needs populations.

Community Plans

The City's Comprehensive Plan, implementation plans and citywide plans provide goals and action steps to enhance Lakewood's livability and to guide land-use decisions, sustainability, and quality development in the city.

Union Corridor

The Union Boulevard Corridor is a major activity in the City and contains several million square feet of office space as well as hospitality and retail facilities and housing.

West Colfax Avenue & West Rail Line

The West Colfax Avenue Corridor and adjacent West Rail Line in Lakewood is a unique, vibrant and thriving historic area home to the 40 West Arts District. The area has active business and neighborhood organizations working to continue to make the area a great place to work, live and do business.
