Request a Planning Consultation

Lakewood Planner working at the Planner of the Day counter.

For simple development proposals or general planning questions, please contact the Planner of the Day. The Planner of the Day is available during business hours to answer general planning and zoning questions and will determine if your project requires any discretionary planning review.

The purpose of the initial consultation is to ensure you have access to the information you will need to proceed with your development proposal. Consultations are required for site development proposals, except single-family homes and duplexes. Click the dropdown below to schedule a meeting.

When is a consultation meeting required?

  • Variance and Waiver applications
Applicants may always contact the Planner of the Day with general questions. However, some projects are not eligible for a consultation meeting, including:
  • New single-family/Duplex homes and additions
  • Residential accessory structures (ex. detached garages and sheds)
  • Fence Permits and Sign Permits
  • Zoning Review Applications (ex. ADUs and wireless facilities)

More information about the formal development process in Lakewood can be found on the Property Development Information webpage.
