Motor vehicle theft has been a growing problem in the State of Colorado and across the US and the Lakewood Police Department is inviting you to take part in a new program targeted at combating this issue. Lakewood PD is taking a proactive approach to auto theft and would like to provide Lakewood residents with the knowledge and tools to help prevent auto theft and ultimately reduce the auto theft ratio in our city.

The Lakewood Police Department kindly reminds you to:

  • LOCK your vehicle when it is unattended.
  • DO NOT leave keys in your vehicle OR leave your vehicle running and unattended.
  • DO NOT leave any valuables inside your vehicle to include weapons, money, tools, etc.
