Drainage Improvements on McIntyre Gulch

  • Completion DateApril 30, 2024

The City of Lakewood, in partnership with the Mile High Flood District, has begun construction of drainage and flood control improvements, drainageway maintenance, and sidewalk improvements at the intersection of Alameda Parkway and Urban Street.

The improvements include an extension of the existing McIntyre Gulch box culvert under Urban Street and realignment of the existing shared-use path. The contractor performing the work will be Naranjo Civil Constructors. View photo and video updates of this project at NaranjoCivil.com/McIntyreGulch

The City of Lakewood is committed to working cooperatively with property owners, business owners and residents. To construct the new drainage improvements, traffic control operations and lane closures will occur along Alameda Parkway from late November of this year through spring 2024. Temporary lane closures will be periodically required on the westbound right-turn lane of Urban Street. A pedestrian detour will also be required.

Prior to construction, utility companies may spray paint or flag the locations of existing facilities along and near the roadway to ensure that utilities are properly identified.
